September 4, 2025 board meeting minutes:

Discussion: The board consider how SCRO members can be encouraged to gather in small groups for the November 1st membership meeting. Board Member Frase accepted an action item to encourage members to invite neighbors to gather in small groups for the meeting (i.e., maybe have a potluck brunch with neighbors before the meeting then join the membership meeting as a group with a single camera).

Discussion: The board considered approving the proposed activity calendar as presented by Board Member Powell. Board Member Powell accepted an action item to handle the logistics of and the advertising for all the social events (casual nights out, potlucks, hot cocoa booth, Easter egg hunt, community yard sale, and picnic) listed on the presented activity calendar. (Board Member Frase will continue to manage the logistics and the advertising for all the board and membership meetings.)
Vote: Board Member Squire moved to approve the proposed activity calendar as presented with a “TBD” for the July 4th activity, if any; Board Member Way seconded the motion. A voice vote resulted as follows: The yeas prevailed; motion passed.

October 16, 2025 work session agenda:

Presentation by Board Member Way: This presentation explores the value of social connection with the Ranches community and how SCRO can facilitate such connection (see attachment titled, “Building Social Connections”).
Discussion led by Board Member Way: Consider “next steps” that the board would be inclined to take to facilitate and develop social connection within our community.

October 16, 2025 work session post-meeting notes:

Update: Board Member Powell reported that six people had attended the Halloween Casual Night Out social event, and the service and food at Lu’s was outstanding.
Update: Board Member Powell agreed to provide details about the Ranch-giving Potluck event to Board Member Frase no later than November 28th. There is a possibility that SCRO could rent the “zombie” property that Board Member Navratil will be reporting on later in this meeting for this potluck. However, Board Member Powell was leaning towards renting the “mess hall” at the Fort Garland Museum.

Note: Board Member Way's presentation on social connection was postponed to a future work session due to a time constraint.
